My son and I have three Dachshunds. They are very, very loveable and all of ours really enjoy children.
---------------------------------
Dachshunds are a lot of fun, each being very unique. They are usually very affectionate, loyal, and intresting. They are especially bubbly as puppies (and most times as adults). They may be a bit nervous though, around other dogs, people, or something unfamiliar to them, though not all dachshunds are this way. Many people I've met say that dachshunds are the best kind of dogs you can get, along with myself.
They of course can differ depending on the dog itself, but they're normally high-spirited and alert. They of course can differ depending on the dog itself, but they're normally high-spirited and alert.
Yes they make great pets! Just make sure you provide them with the same leadership you would any other dog.
Folks often make the mistake of babying a small dog and then end up with behavior problems. So long and you provide calm leadership, you will have a great companion. Also be sure not to overfeed them!
A wiener dog. A dog with long ears, short legs, and a long body.
Because dachshunds have long bodies like frankfurters. They are adorably cute!!!!! I love my dachshunds! And because they have nothing better to do....
Dogs are pack animals naturally, coming from their ancient wolf ancestors. I do not think that dachshunds have a much different behavoir, but I have noticed my dachshunds seems to like other dachshunds better than other breeds. If fact, the standard dachshund were breed to hunt in packs. Therefore, they are very content if they have other dogs to bond with. Since the miniature dachshund is derived from the standard, they also have the same temperament. They love to have other dogs around to bond with.
About over one thousand people put cloths on dachshunds.
Yes, they do, especially in summer months. I have two Miniature Longhaired Dachshunds and they shed quite alot unless you brush them frequently.
My first dachshund was fine with the dark. My second, a year old, is sometimes afraid of it. If we switch the light off while he is walking out of a room, he freezes. But he is fine with sleeping in a dark room. I don't think it's characteristic of dachshunds disliking the dark. It may just be a quirk of your pet.
It all depends on the type of Dachshund! (wire haired, smooth/short haired, long haired) Long haired Dachshunds have a loving, affectionate personality. Short/smooth haired have a loving, sometimes protective, personality. They can be frisky. Wire haired have a frisky personality, but can be affectionate. Overall, i would say they have a great personality, although every dog is different!!
Dachshunds are adorable. Long skinny short hot dog dogs :)
As in, falling from the sky and jumping in puddles and going swimming? If so, that depends on your Dachshund. Some like it, some don't. My Dachshunds don't like bring rained on. To drink, then yes, all Dachshunds will like water.
Dachshunds are dogs. Dogs have memories. Yes. Yes. Just like everything else.

Yes i have one, they have a great personality. They are very smart and there nose are always to the ground. the beagle is a hunting dog. And the dachshunds is a hunting dog also.
yes
As with all dogs, it depends on the individual, I have known Dachshunds that love water but unfortunately the ones I have owned hated it (although they could swim).
They eat dog food like any other dog.
There is a wealth of information available on dachshunds on the link below.
Shorthaired and Longhaired Dachshunds had appeared in Europe since the 15th century, and Wirehaired Dachshunds were first bred in 1790.
