Just passing through, but

Japan had become a brutal aggressor in China. We responded with crippling sanctions. They attacked us.

After 3 years and countless dead, we reached the home Islands of Iwo Jima and Okinawa, both costly victories. With every Japanese on Kyushu and Honshu willing to die before surrendering? I likely wouldn't be here now had the war not ended so abruptly. For purely selfish reasons, I support Truman's decision.

I believe the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki was inhumane. It caused hundreds of thousands of deaths due to automatic cumbustion, cancer, or radiation. We could have simply shown Japan our power by dropping the bomb a safe distance away in Tokyo Bay. No one would have been harmed, and 500,000 American lives would still be saved.Az waz here!
