There are so many benefits to having a point of sale system. Reporting, time management, loss prevention, the list can go on and on.

EPOS or Electronic Point of Sale equipment has a massive impact of all retailing sectors since its integration started.

The systems in general can add functionallity to by;

Using barcodes instead of price stickers which is expensive to place on each item and then to have to remove for repricing if required.

Adds the bill and can count certain items where a multi buy will give discound

Can accept credit and debit crds for payment as well as cash using the FTPOS system ,

account for coupons on bills and deduct as required,

Can pronit multiple receipts on demand

Can transfer a transaction from one till unit to another in the event that the till is failing and allow another operator to complete the transaction

Can accept iimmeadiate price changes both up and down from the back off ice system which keep the proce point in real time

Will send back to the back office system each sale for each itenm and allow this system to update the inventory database.

Sends the payment recieved back to the back off ice to allow for accounting as well as be able to printout the normal x and z reports (sub total of sales and final total of sales)

Can act as a master and slave system which allows one main till unit to run a slave system which takes pressure off the back off database

Can have failing parts removed and replaced in real time without overly effectiung the customer experiance.

Take customer details in some systems which will allow the retailer to order directly from warehouse and supplier items that are sold i.e. Order a bed and take sales and delibery details which are sent directly to suppliers.

Add new and remove discontinued lines from a thes invesntory database whch then will inform the back office system.

Account for financial sales in all accepted media and allow accounting to take place against each till to "cash up" the retailer.
