  • He was born in Ulm, Germany

  • He received the Nobel Prize for physics in 1921
  • He had three children, one daughter and two sons. His daughter's name was Lieserl and his son's names were Eduard and Hans Albert
  • He became a citizen of the United States in 1940.
  • He died in 1955
  • After he died, his brain was cut up and preserved. It is still kept in Witchita, Kansas
  • He had Jewish ancestry, but did not practice.

  • He never learned how to tie his shoes.
  • When asked why he was so reserved by one of his high school teachers, referring to the fact that he did not speak often, he responded by saying, "When you talk, you can't listen."

He loved to play the violin, his second wife was his first cousin, and he never washed his hair.

Einstein invented the theory of general relativity, which served to undermine Newton's theory of gravity. Einstein is the guy that stated the fabric of space gets warped by the presence of massive bodies such as planets and stars.

Einstein argued intensely with Bohr and Heisenburg about the existence of quantum entanglement; stating it was impossible because it didn't make sense--leading to his famous quote "God does not throw dice." Einstein turned out to be wrong. Quantum entanglement does infact exist.

Einstein died of an Aortic Aneurysm.

Einstein's brain was removed prior to his cremation, and stored, to be studied in the future when neuroscience might clue us in to what made him so smart.
