Fort Western was a British fort on the Kennebec River at what is now Augusta, Maine. The fort was built in 1754. Fort Halifax was also a British fort built on the Kennebec River in 1755. It is located in what is now Winslow, Maine. Both forts are open to tourists. Fort Halifax has a Revolutionary War re-enactment every year.
