Stars shine because the light we see coming from the stars travels through the atmosphere around the earth and there is turbulence in the earths atmosphere.

  1. They are made mainly of hydrogen

  4. They shine because of a process called nuclear fusion which converts mass into energy according to Einstein's equation E=MC2
