Protozoans are unicellular, single celled micro organisms. Usually by themselves, but they sometimes form colonies. These organism get their food from their surroundings, and tend to live in a marine environment or fresh water. The official definition of the word protozoans is "a single-celled microscopic animal of a group of phyla of the kingdom Protista, such as an ameba, flagellate, ciliate, or sporozoan."

Protozoans are a group of animals from the kingdom Protista.

There are four main groups based on the ability to move location (locomotion).

1. Amoeboids:- singled celled microscopic organisms that move by using false feet (Amoeba).

2. Flagellats:- Single celled microscopic organisms that move by a whip-like tale or flagellum - include euglena.

3. Ciliates:- Singled- celled microscopic organisms that move by moving hairs called cilia - include pasamecium.

4. Sporozoans:- Single cellec microscopic organisms with NO form of movement - includeds Plasmodium.
