I'm sure there were some cuts in the text. Heston himself discusses the making of the film in his autobiography, The Actor's Life (1978). It's not a bad film (except for a surprisingly weak performance by Jason Robards), and it's fairly close to the play, but I think the 1953 version, directed by Joseph L. Mankiewicz, is much better. Good luck.

· The death of Julius Caesar is portrayed differently. Historically, there are at least 60 or more people who are against him and want to kill him. In the play, only about 20 or less people are against him.

· In of the play, Brutus is portrayed as a very good friend. In real life he was always against Caesar.

The movie from 1953 is missing some scenes and parts from acts such as when Portia stabs herself in the thigh to prove to Brutus that she is strong enough to keep his secrets.
