Plastic surgery is very competitive with a difficult training residency. You would need to first graduate from medical school at the top of your class, then complete either general surgery (5-7 years) followed by plastic surgery (3 years) or enter Integrated Plastics out of medical school (6+ years). Both plastics fellowships and integrated plastics residency are amongst the most competitive and difficult to obtain spots in medicine. To be competitive you'll need top board scores, excellent clinical grades, good letters of recommendation from plastic surgeons and research publications.
