Well there not much that you need to worry about in regards to customs when purchasing travel packages and traveling to Hong Kong or Singapore unless you are planning on taking or bringing back any type of fruit, vegetable, meat, or live animals which is what the Customs is typically in charge of regulating and policing. Now if you are planning on doping any of those things you need to decalre it on the customs sheet given to you on the airplane prior to arrival at your final destination and perhaps you might need to pay some sort of import duty.

Singapore is no longer a boat yard. It is a high tech fully capable city! There are a few customs if you are visiting a family of a certain race that has strict rules, but, that is a completely different question!!! The usual things are polite in Singapore like: Holding the lift for someone, offering your seat to someone who needs it more, not talking too loudly etc. If you have a more specific question be more, um, specific! Have you ever been to Singapore, to the guy who wrote this, answering machines are considered advanced technology, and what is polite in Singapore, doing the oposite of what is said above
If you are asking why its 'Singapore, singapore', its because there is only one state in Singapore
Singapore is a city state and country of its own. Singapore doesn't have a capital, but the correct term of the capital you find in a atlas would be "Capital of Singapore: Singapore, Singapore"

Yes, you just show them your passport and boarding pass. They will put it in a tamper proof bag and it will get inspected as you pass through customs and any security checks.
