read all of it!!!!!!! The Akita easily They are heavier and stronger with larger heads and jaws. A larger head=more biting power. The German Shepherd is a fantastic dog, b…ut the Akita goes far beyond a German shepherd and for a companion and guard dog I would have to go with the Akita, it is capable of killing to protect its owner & family dependent of situation. They're highly intelligent and make the best protector for a family. Before world war 2 in japan when bear hunting was legal they used to hunt bears and most of the time kill the bears if you don't believe me listen to this quote Michio Ebisu says "I was walking in the forest and my Akita was with me when suddenly I was attacked by a bear my Akita jumped at the bear and used all it's weight to tackle the bear to the ground it then it bit the bears neck holding it in a lock and the bear was dead in no time." lets see a German shepherd do that
We live with an Akita/Shepherd " Hybrid ". I have researched the " mix " extensively. Opinions vary greatly. One hardcore dog fanatic likened breeders who intentio…nally mix the two breeds, as irresponsible, saying that there were enough unwanted " mutts " in the world. I happen to love mutts and believe, that mixes are usually healthier animals, less subject to inbred predispositions to health problems. I have also read that some people refer to the Akita/Shepherd mix as a highly desirable " Designer Breed ", and considered them to be a status symbol. I lean towards this opinion. Bare in mind that we LOVE this animal, as do just about everyone who meets him. Historically, the original Akitas were mixed with other breeds to begin with. Great Danes were one of the breeds that the Japanese mixed them with. I noticed Dane traits before I was privy to that info. In summary, call Akita/Shepherd a mix, a mutt, a hybrid, or a designer breed. Or you could call it what my Vet called him.....A GREAT DOG. I am sorry if you were looking for an AKC definition.
American Akita's are a bit taller and generally heavier than GSD's. Japanese Akita's are smaller. According to breed standards Akita's of either gender can hit 100lbs, whereas… GSD's are in the 90's.
Akita's are from Japan - GSD's are from Germany. Akita's have curly tails - GSD's have Sabre tails Akita's have webbed feet - GSD's have partially webbed feet... Akita's… and German Shepherd's are two totally different breeds. There is nothing alike about them in the slightest.
Labradors are all one color and test to be a little smaller than German Shepherds. Shepherds tend to have a longer thinner face than Labradors and their cost is all different …types of brown. The Shepherd has a different body structure when it comes the the back legs. The back legs are shorter than the front in Shepherds, where they are the same length in Labs.
German shepherd is usually 26-28inches at the withers. weighs about 88lbs up to 100lbs. the old style gsd was 30inches at wither and weighed 120lbs. Rottweiler is usually 27in…ches at the withers weighs 90lbs. German shepherds have thicker fur and are more intelligent as far as dog intelligence goes. both are herding dogs and are large powerful and loyal both make great guard dogs. German shepherds are better with families and animals.
No, there is no difference between an Alsatian and a German Sheperd.
There is no difference between an Alsatian and a German Shepherd, it is the same breed, just a different name.
No dog hates another dog. If they are both socialized and good with other dogs there is no problem. Akita's however, have been known to live in harmony for years with another… dog and then suddenly kill it for no reason so be careful.
German shepherd is incredibly loyal.do not let the movie abaout hachiko foul you.I mean akitas are also very loyal but hachiko is just one of billion stoties abaout dog loyali…ty.gsd is the best breed
Belgium's have a thinner physic and smaller paws, also German shepherds hips are slightly dipped in comparison with the Belgium, the German's are prone to hip problems, and Be…lgium's are prone to getting muscle wasting diseases. I hope this is helpful x
In Dog Breeds
There is a very big difference: German Shepherd: Almond shaped eyes, Large erect and very mobile ears, Comes in the markings black and tan, black, sable and white in general.….. panda is also a colour but isn't yet official. German Shepherd's should have a black saddle and markings around the back area other than the saddle and around the mouth and eyes for a Black and Tan or Black and Sable... Blacks are all black and White all white. Panda's are mostly either tri - colours or black && white. GSD's have a large Sabre arched tail and a generally very powerful appearance. They have a broad muzzle and very defined stop. They have an undying loyalty about them and are brave and fearless. A favourable companion or great member of the police unit. Dobermann: Almond shaped eyes, soft ears unless clipped [illegal in some states and countries], generally comes in black and tan or rush and tan and even chocolate and tan. Dobermann's should have tan/rust colour up to their 'knee joints' and on their muzzle, 'eyebrows', triangle shapes on their chests and a small white patch is allowed. They have a whip like tail and thin muzzle and sloping head but with a defined stop. They are loyal and protective but usually not over the top with affection. A nice companion.
Akita, King German Shepherds aren't an official variation and therefore come in a range of heights, Akita's have a set height regulation.
Other than both being used for guarding or home protection, not much. They do both have a tendency to be vilified as vicious or overly aggressive. This is of course completely… subjective, as any dog not raised right can be vicious or aggressive. Akita's are generally not recommended for first time dog owners, or those that do not have the time and resources to devote to properly socializing and training such a big, strong animal. Akita's, like all other Japanese "Inu" dogs, are notorious for their stubbornness and independent streak. They can also be much less tolerant of other dogs, especially of the same gender. GSD's also need a healthy amount of training and socialization, but are generally considered a bit easier because of their desire to please their owners. Akita's started out as hunting dogs, and some still retain a strong prey drive, GSD's are herding dogs, although some of them have a prey drive as well. Hope this helps.
There is no difference between them. They are both German Shepherds. Alsheshan was adopted during the world wars by breeders because people had qualms with the Germans. Th…is name alteration helped to make the breed more desirable.
