Usually the term "pit-bull" includes the following 3 breeds.

1. American Pit-bull Terrier

2. American Stafford shire Terrier

3. Stafford shire Bull Terrier

4. there is also a "bully" which is just a stockier and more muscular looking pit.

Pit-bulls were originally breed to fight, but they are not always aggressive. Any dog can be aggressive depending on how it's treated and it's owner

When we use the term "pit bull" here, it should be understood to encompass American Pit Bull Terriers, American Staffordshire Terriers, and Staffordshire Bull Terriers.

What most people refer to as a kind of "pit" is really just color or markings.

Bull terrier, which is the little one, with the face that looks like it cannot see straight ahead, American pit bull, which I have not seen, or even heard about, in quite some time, and I think are fading out, due to bad temperment, American staffordshire pit bull terrier, which looks like the most common, but smaller. Lately, I have heard people call them "pocket pits", as if they are something new, and the most popular, American staffordshire bull terriers, which sub catorgorize as Brindle, Blue nose, and Red nose.........Chuck.
