Open cast mining is generally considered safer than underground mining but there are still some dangers such as:
1)Because opencast mining is done in the form of ledges one can easily fall off one of these ledges which can can meters high.
2)Because open pit mining is done using explosives it can cause injury due to flying pieces of rock and other debris.
3)Open cast mining needs a lot of space for digging and it affects the environment in many bad ways.Animals loose their homes,deforestation occurs,people have to be relocated to other places because of pollution hazards.
4)The use of explosives may also cause other accidents to happen.
