Short term, nothing much if you're young and healthy. More and longer colds. Maybe panic disorder. If you're of heart attack age, the risk of a heart attack goes up significantly.

Long term, heart attacks, lung cancer, emphysema, chronic bronchitis, and a raft of other nasties.

The biggest risk of short term smoking is becoming a long term smoker.

Short term, it may cause slight irritation, such as runny eyes and a tickly throat. It, or more likely the stress of coming into contact with the most dangerous substance ever (is there anything else that has 'no safe dose'?), may trigger an Asthma attack.

Long term, i.e. over decades of 24x7 exposure, the vast majority of studies into its effects have given inconclusive results.

Can a Seventh-day Adventist remain a smoker?

Short answer: No. Long answer: Seventh-day Adventists as a denomination are against the use of tobacco in all its forms as part of a healthy lifestyle (also including teetotalism and, preferably, vegetarianism), and have long been in the practice of holding stop-smoking seminars. Where can you buy smokeless tobacco in Poznan Poland?

Poland is in the European Union, as such it is illegal to sell any smokeless tobacco products in the EU, the only exceptions being the Nordic countries of the EU (chiefly Sweden) as smokeless tobacco use in Scandinavia is as culturally relevant there as smoking tobacco and is often used to help with smoking cessation there. So the short answer is you can't buy it anywhere in Poland. The long answer however, is that it is possible to have it shipped from Sweden or from the United States or Canada (the only 1st world nations to actually allow the sale of smokeless tobacco domestically) through mail order via the Internet.

How much healthier is a hookah?

Not at all. Hookah smoking is not safer than cigarette smoking. The tobacco is no less toxic in a hookah pipe, and the water in the hookah does not filter out the toxic ingredients in the tobacco smoke. Hookah smokers may actually inhale more tobacco smoke than cigarette smokers do because of the large volume of smoke they inhale in one smoking session, which can last as long as 60 minutes.
