There wasen't one. Every part of the castle mattered. There was the Baron, the moat and drawbridge, the tower, the portcullis, etc. Each part had a purpose, e.g; the baron, moat and drawnbridge and portcullis all were used for safety reason ( to protect themselves from enemeys. The tower was for living in.
