First off, poor sanitation increases your risk of contracting countless diseases. Diseases like Cholera, Giardia, and Listeria, Parasites like worms, Protists like Amoebas which can lead to things like Amoebic Dysentery (A diseases that is basically defined by it's tendency to cause massive amounts of bloody diarrhea,) and countless other things that people in developed countries seldom think about due to the ease of access to clean food and water and the proper and sanitary waste disposal system.
Poor sanitation can also affect people's social and professional lives. It's obviously much easier to score a job when you attend the interview clean and fresh and not grubby and disgusting. It's also much easier to acquire a romantic partner and even just regular friends when you're clean as well.
All of these culminate into emotional health as well. People would much rather be clean than dirty, people are happier when they're clean than the alternative. Plus, if you take into consideration the aforementioned examples, no social/professional life will also put a damper on your mood.
Those are the main effects of poor sanitation I can think of, hope it helped!
Seriously? Besides things like hemoragic gastroenteritis and bloody stool, umm parylization and even death. None of which sound very fun to me. Most of the time it lots of... lets say loose fluids looking for the fastest way out of your body. Not very much fun. and oh yeah it lasts a while too. not a one day thing like those poor excuses people use for missing work, I.E. Hangovers.
There are lots of possible effects such as
1) the spread of disease by direct and indirect contact-
