There are several pros and cons of space travel. Pros for space travel include scientific resserch. many common household items were developed because of space travel, among them, velcrow, memory foam, high impact crash helmets, better working pens, gps, satalite tv, long distence phone calls, ski goggles that dont fog up, and many other things. Also, Space exploration allows us to do two things that, in the long run, are important; finding life outside of our planet, and finding a planet other than our own that is habital. Now, onto the cons. It costs about $12,000 to launch a single pound of cargo into space, more if that cargo requires life support. most of this weight is made up of the fuel it takes to accelerate an object to 17,500 mph (earth escape velocity). Of course you have to take into account the danger of of launching humans into space...
