Major vibration in the steering wheel. With the car parked and the steering wheel unlocked, go to a tire and try to shake it back and forth by grabbing on each side of the tire. If that tire will move back and forth, the wheel bearing is bad. Also when drivingand turning in curves, if the roaring gets louder, they are bad.
they never need to be relubricated just replaced
Bad ball bearings. Check to see the bearings and the casing does not need to be replaced.
Check your wheel bearings, or you might need a wheel alignment
This buzzing indicates that the wheel bearings need to be replaced on your front left wheel. This can be fixed by changing the bearings themselves or replacing the entire wheel hub.
there are a total of 4 wheel bearings on the front both sides have an inner and outer bearing. the outer bearing is visable when you remove hub the inner bearing is visable when you remove rotor
You supposed to check if there are any play in the wheels at 90k miles for sure. If there is any play (wiggling, back and forth) then you need to replace your wheel bearings. Mine went out at around 85k miles.
Wheel bearings, main bearings, connecting rod bearings, cam bearings, axle bearings, carrier bearings, pinion bearings and so on, need to be more specific.
the wheel bearings are press fit bearings you need to pull out the drums and take them and the new bearings to a machine shop they can press them in a few minutes and fairly cheep to do
Need to know if it is 2 wheel drive or 4 wheel drive.
AnswerThere are a couple of things... If it happens when you are turning and the sound gets louder then it is your CV Joint that needs to be replaced. If the grinding noise is only when you break then it is your break pads and they need to be replaced. If it is just when you drive and is pretty loud then it is your wheel bearings. Don't get bent out of shape if you replace one wheel bearing and the noise is there... it just means you probably should replace all the wheel bearings (better anyways).
You can tell when your wheel bearings need replacing is when they are making unusual noises. For example: squealing, groaning, chirping or cracking noises. If this happens, get it checked out right away.
Wheel bearings? Axle bearings? Differential carrier bearings? Engine main bearings? Engine rod bearings? Engine cam bearings? Need more info to help you.
