vaginal shingles start out feeling like a yeast infection....then progresses to open "burnlike" sores that are usually all on one side...as they follow the nerve path. It is very painful and can cause other things such as horrible joint pain and urine retention.

I know this not because i am a physician but because I have this right now. I ended up in the ER when I could not pee for 12 hours. I had a foley cathedar in for 6 days and now I self cath when I have to pee. I am taking Valtrex 1 gm 3 times a day and as I get better the ability to pee without a cath is slowly coming back. This is very painful...rare and serious. Make sure you not only go to an OBGYN but go to a Urologist as well. The obgyn kept saying I had an STd and I did not...they did cultures and took blood tests.

The urologist diagnosed it. Make sure if your gyn does not give you an answer you go to a urologist.

First symptoms for herpes are 1 or more blisters in the infected area and flu like symptoms (fever and swollen glands).

However even before the skin blisters or breaks a heat or itchiness may be felt under the skin in the effected area. this is the best time to treat the area with an anti viral creme.

Painful small blisters, 2-4 mm in size over the groin area. The appearance is similar to cold sores (oral herpes). If it occurs on the inner skin of the genitalia, the blisters might look more swollen and pinkish. Remember though that in over 80% of cases, a genital herpes will not show any signs.

the symptoms of oral herpes or Herpes simplex are

  • you can feel a slight eat or sensitivity under the skin on usually the lips. however it can also happen in the nose. you will find that you will tend to worry the area with your tongue. Resist the urge to the best of your ability. this is also the best time to get inti viral cold sore creme or lotion.
  • Next you will notice one or more blisters forming ( often referred to as fever blisters) leave them alone with your tongue as well.
  • next the blisters will break open
  • this is followed by the healing process which forms a scab over the injured area's this point you have to be particularly vigilant in applying the creme to prevent this scab from causing the adjacent skin to crack and spread the sore.
  • waiting for it to go away usually feels like it takes about 10 years.
  • for some reason as you get older the symptoms become less severe and clear more quickly.

The signs of genital herpes are the same for males and females. They include a group of itchy, burning, painful sores on a red base. The sores start as blisters, then become ulcers. The lymph nodes in the groin are usually swollen and tender.

You were reading on the computer and somebody put that Chris Brown has herpes what are herpes?

Herpes is a sexually transmitted disease (STD) caused by the herpes simplex viruses type 1 (HSV-1) or type 2 (HSV-2). Most genital herpes is caused by HSV-2. Most individuals have no or only minimal signs or symptoms from HSV-1 or HSV-2 infection. When signs do occur, they typically appear as one or more blisters on or around the genitals or rectum. The blisters break, leaving tender ulcers (sores) that may take two to four weeks to heal the first time they occur. Typically, another outbreak can appear weeks or months after the first, but it almost always is less severe and shorter than the first outbreak. Although the infection can stay in the body indefinitely, the number of outbreaks tends to decrease over a period of years. ...THANKS TO http://www.cdc.gov/std/herpes/STDFact-herpes.htm#Whatis
