well the piri reis map was created in 1929 and as for the ptolemy's map i am currently unable to find the creation date for it so the ptolemy's map came first because i am on a quiz and my teacher says it came first.

Roland Reiss is a Los Angeles-based artist & art teacher. Roland has exhibited world-wide since the 70s and has taught at Claremont Graduate University, Idyllwild Art, and others. He served as chair of the MFA program at CGU for almost two decades. He was awarded four NEA Visual Artists Fellowships and a Lifetime Achievement Award from LA Art Core. In 2008, Roland received the College Art Association's Distinguished Teaching of Art Award. He continues to work from his downtown LA studio where he lives with his wife and fellow artist, Dawn Arrowsmith.
