tell them that your sorry. for whatever you did to break the relationship. ask what they did in school, what kind of things did they learn, would you like to play a board game, and so on. ask them anything you feel is right. this is pretty much starting a good conversation with your child/children. for future things you can do, listen to their problems. don't raise your voice. ask them nicely if you need to ask them something. I hope this will help anyone out there.
