When broccoli that has already been harvested are left a little too long on the shelf or in the fridge the buds on the florets will start to yellow. Everyone I talked to said it was still edible.
The taste may change, so try a piece to see if it still tastes good to you.
Someone suggested it might give you gas. /p
I don't know about that.....but if it tastes OK go ahead and use it quickly.
If it starts turning brown/black and slimy, it's started to decompose.
Dispose of it in compost or just throw it in the bushes.
Help feed the other plants.
The broccoli plant, while still in your garden, will bloom and produce bright yellow flowers. These blooms are also edible and sometimes sold as a delicacy. You can use them as garnish or throw them in a salad.

I'm sorry to hear about your yellow broccoli. You are probably not giving it enough water or you may be giving it too much. It turns yellow in both occasions. You may also have it in a bad soil or in a pot that is the right size. For further help visit Home Depot or other stores with garden centers!

∙ 10y agoBroccoli that is turning yellow is safe to eat. Yellowing of the tips of broccoli is common and normal. You can eat it without any issues.

Pick the broccoli before you see the little greeny balls putting out these yellow flowers. The broccoli will have an undesirable flavor if you let it go too long. Start picking the broccoli from the central head. You may develop sideshoots of broccoli after the main head is totally picked..........
