A great deal. WA is a Huge place!
You can drive 2 hours north to see the Pinnacles.
There are also the Fremantle Markets, Kings Park, The Perth Mint, and shops in the city - London Court.
WA is very big, and all of the middle is very flat, very dry and very empty. All the people live around the edge near the sea. We do have some quite nice beaches. There's this cool island, Rottnest Island, only about 30 minutes on a boat from Perth, where they have Quokkas (furry and a bit bigger than a cat), which are found nowhere else in the world. We've also got Whales (seasonal, check when) and Dolphins, and Roos and Bobtails. It is often also called, "The home of the Black Swan" [Hence the title of Perth's key river - "the Swan"].
A few miles north of the city lies Yanchep Caves - with an adjoining lovely picnic and lake area.
100 miles south are the Margaret River Caves.
You can also visit the great Australian game (football) at Subiaco Oval or at the Fremantle ground.
As with most cities: the zoo, museum, concert halls, movie theatres and McDonald's, etc. You can also take ferries across and up the Swan River. Suburban 'sights' include Cottesloe Beach, King's Park on the city's edge, Araluen and Mundaring Weir. Most of these areas are accessible by bus.
However, Perth suburbs are also a wonderful, delightful and pleasant trip via train.
If you travel to the south eastern corner of the state, you will enjoy some of the world's tall forests - with both, karri and jarrah trees the prime features.
Inland somewhat (380 miles) are the famous Kalgoorlie Goldfields [and applicable historic monument].
If you travel north-west, you will find the mining towns that currently (2010) drive the Australian economy.
