I just got my braces 3 days ago, and my teeth are still pretty sore. I have discovered a perfect way to describe how your teeth feel after the first day. and this is it: It feels like every single one of the teeth that you have braces on is loose, so it hurts really badly to eat anyhting.. so what I'm doing and have been doing since i got them is drinking smoothies and chocolate shakes. It's the only "plus" for the first few days.

ANOTHER ANSWER

Hi! I just got my braces yesterday night, and as the other user has said, it really does hurt! Today it took me about four hours to finish my lunch, and all I ate was soft bread, broccoli and yoghurt. Well, I had a pretzel as well and I admit that was the most painful to chew (obviously!). I am just wearing braces on my top teeth, but my bottom teeth hurt as well! I have this retainer sort of thing to cover them.

I could not believe this morning when I woke up how fast my teeth has recovered. I had this huge gap in my front teeth, yet it is fixed, and it is only the first day! WOW. There was such a fast recovery, but luckily because I was asleep I didn't feel any pain during it. Maybe by the time someone has read this you have already gotten your braces so you know exactly what I mean.

I hope this helped in one way or another!

At first when you get it on, it feels like your teeth are like a rock, and they feel really tight. It hurts a bit when you eat for the first 2 days. After it feels the same as if you don't have braces, but it is like you have clothes on your teeth!

It's ok. Just gotta be careful of what u eat so you don't break or get anything stuck in the wire or the brackets. They give you a whole list of stuff your not suppose to eat but it's ur choice to listen. I dout most people even read it after a while. Until ur teeth get use to them, they may be sore and hurt to eat but they get better. The fun part to me was getting to chose the color of the bands that go on them but thts bout all I liked bout them

At first braces feel quit tight. Your mouth feel really squashed together. After a while, it will soon feel as if they have loosened out. That is after a few weeks though.

Always remember to eat the right food:

1.Soup

2.Yoghurt

3.Fish

There just main ones, but if you find another just go or it.

Good luck,

How do braces feel when you get them off?

At first, wearing braces may feel awkward while your mouth gets used to the unfamiliar objects. But eventually, you grow used to them. The following are the main points of how braces feel: Initial Discomfort: You might experience soreness and discomfort when your braces are first put on. This is because your teeth are being forced into alignment by the brackets and wires. Usually, this discomfort subsides within a few days to a week. Pressure Sensation: As your teeth progressively reposition themselves, you may experience pressure during the orthodontic treatment. The changes your orthodontist makes may affect this pressure. Abrasions and Irritation: The insides of your cheeks, lips, and tongue may become irritated by braces. Your orthodontist's wax can help by forming a barrier between your braces and your mouth's soft tissues, which will reduce discomfort. Food Restrictions: Wearing braces might make it more difficult to eat several foods. Foods that are chewy, sticky, or firm might bend the wires in the brackets or get caught in them, causing pain or damage to the braces. To avoid any difficulties, it is advised to stay away from these meals. Tightening Sessions: Your braces may be adjusted or tightened during routine orthodontic appointments. While your teeth are under increasing pressure to complete the alignment process, this procedure may cause momentary discomfort. Speech Modifications: As your mouth becomes used to having braces, you could first notice little adjustments in the way you speak. This usually goes away when you become used to talking to them. Maintenance Schedule: To avoid discomfort and uphold good dental hygiene, it's critical to keep your braces clean. In addition to reducing discomfort, regular brushing, flossing, and use of the orthodontic equipment prescribed by your orthodontist can help avoid gum disease and tooth decay. Gradual Adaptation: Most people become used to wearing braces over time. As your mouth adjusts, discomfort becomes less obvious, and the benefits of a straighter smile usually exceed the discomfort at first. Overall, even though wearing braces temporarily may hurt at first, the advantages of having a straighter smile and better oral health outweigh the inconvenience. How does it feel when your getting braces?

If you get spacers, it feels like a really bad headache. Then, the actual braces feel like a half inch metal on your teeth. If you run your tongue over them, you might cut it. When they are tightened, it feels like a really bad headache. When I first got braces, I had to eat a lot of soup, smoothies, and sweet potatoes because it's hard to chew until 2-4 weeks. But, definitely brush your teeth everyday when you get them.

Which are worse spacers aka separators or braces?

braces are way worse! spacers only cause mild pain on the teeth they are touching. braces cause pain on all your teeth; plus, it will take weeks if not months for your gums & cheeks to get used to the braces. with braces, every time you bump your mouth for the first few months- blood & sores! it is very painful!! spacers just feel like a big chunk of dental floss is stuck between your teeth! nothing you can't handle. braces are an entirely different story!

Why is it important to brush your teeth with braces?
