You can give up what you like , like some give up eating meat, drinking alcohol and smoking as well during lent.

If your birthday is not in Lent, then of course you can. If it is in Lent, you probably should still stay off what you have given up if you are serious about honouring Lent.

So, if you have given up something for Lent, you might have given it up until after the Easter Vigil, or you might have given it up just on fast days, which used to be every weekday of Lent, except for the Annunication and the Solemnity of St. Joseph. It's sort of up to you, and what you want to offer God.
Yes you can play on ash Wednesday apart from if that is what you have given up for lent but I doubt that
