Lightning is produced in thunderstorms when liquid and ice particles above the freezing level collide, and build up large electrical fields in the clouds. Once these electric fields become large enough, a giant "spark" occurs between them, like static electricity, reducing the charge separation. The lightning spark can occur between clouds, between the cloud and air, or between the cloud and ground.
When lightning strikes the earth. there is a positive charge in the earth from which sends runners up toward the base of a cumulonimbus cloud which has a negative charge. The negative charge sends out runners toward the runners of positive charge. When the two charges meet, the lightning charge goes toward the earth and the result is a bolt of lightning.

sometimes metal for example if you are riding in a car then you are more likely to get struck then if you are walking without any metal.
Photons travel the cosmic space down to the Earth.
Light from the sun travels in [almost] a straight line to the earth and that which is directed towards the earth touches it.
This a riddle. It has been given as "My thunder comes before my lightning. My lightning comes before my rain. My rain dries everything it touches. What am I?"One suggestion is a volcano. It's roar comes before it spews out fiery magma, and possibly lightning occurs in the subsequent clouds above the volcano. Then it rains hot ash, which certainly dries everything it touches.
The glass ball is for ornamental purposes only. Nothing happens to it when lightning strikes it.
BOTH of those kinds of lightning occur.
NO! Lightning doesn't have thoughts. Lightning happens when GOD makes it happen!
air
Lightning
it might smoke a tiny bit where it hit the earth
lightning cnat happen IN the earth only outside it because it needs positive and negative charges from the sky and ground
Nothing really happens to the person in a car when the vehicle gets struck by lightning as long as they remain in the car. Once a person touches a metallic part of the car and the ground at the same time, they run the risk of electrocution.
Then she touches sperm...
A volcano.

Nothing happens, it does not attract.
I read a book by an electrical engineer who said, "When lightning strikes the earth. there is a positive charge in the earth from which sends runners up toward the base of a cumulonimbus cloud which has a negative charge. The negative charge sends out runners toward the runners of positive charge. When the two charges meet, the lightning charge goes toward the earth and the result is a bolt of lightning.
