St. Petersberg, Russia. It was named after Peter the Great

It was built by Peter the Great and 25,000 people died building it from the swamps and mud. It was built by hand. Today it is a beautiful city of various buildings in pastel shades of pink, green, blue, and yellow. I was there in 08 and loved it. It is the most northern city in Europe and is only 500 miles from the Arctic circle.
