If it was a regular meat-eater they'd kill it, take it somewhere away from people & other animals and eat it. I don't think it was a raccoon though. Raccoons don't usually have a problem with cats, as they can easily scare a cat away.
Any of those animals could do that but it is probably a raccoon. Foxes, coyotes and bobcats would usually kill the animal and carry it elsewhere to eat. Raccoons forage for food and usually eat anything they catch on the spot.

In a word, YES. Raccoons are much more formidable predators than most realize. But, they're lazy. I put out a cup of high quality dog food (30+ years training K9s and War Dogs) and fresh water at twilight and they prefer that to killing and eating our barn cats.
