Birth Control pills will often make your period lighter - sometimes even to just spotting; some women even use them for this reason, particularly if their natural periods are unpleasantly or unhealthily heavy. It may not be a bad idea to check with the person who prescribed them for you, but it is fairly unlikely to be anything to worry about.
