There could be several different causes for missing a period. The first, and most obvious reason is pregnancy. Although, you can miss a period and not be pregnant. Other causes could be a hormonal imbalance (thyroid), stress, excessive weight gain/loss, problems with ovaries (syst, tumors..although this is to the extreme). My suggestion is to see your doctor. If you are not pregnant, then they can run further test to detect the problem.
