Dorothy of The Wizard of Oz is a courageous, likeable little girl who never gives up on her dream of getting her and her pet dog Toto back home to her Uncle Henry and Aunt Em, and who understands the meaning of friendship, because she sees to it that the dreams of her friends the Tin Woodman, the Scarecrow, and the Cowardly Lion come true too.

'Folklore, legends, myths and fairy tales have followed childhood through the ages, for every healthy youngster has a wholesome and instinctive love for stories fantastic, marvelous and manifestly unreal'
Dorothy Gale went with her pet dog Toto to the beautiful, enchanted, magical land of Oz. She accidentally killed the Wicked Witch of the East when her family's farmhouse landed on top of, and killed the Witch. She received the thanks and welcome of the Munchkins of the Blue Country of the East. For the Munchkins were relieved to be released from the Witch's rule. She got the protective mark from the kiss of the Good Witch of the North on her forehead, and the Slippers of the Wicked Witch of the East. She made friends with the Tin Woodman, the Scarecrow, and the Cowardly Lion. She got the Stork to rescue the Scarecrow from where he was stranded in a wide stream. She got to have an audience for her, Toto, and their three friends, with the Wizard of Oz. She killed the Wicked Witch of the West, by throwing a bucket of water and thereby melting her into nothingness. She rescued the Scarecrow and the Tin Woodman from where the Winged Monkeys had left them, destrawed and broken, respectively. She got the requests of her three friends carried out - albeit for show, with no real content - by the Wizard. She had a chance to get herself and Toto back to Kansas by way of a hot air balloon ride with the Wizard. But Toto jumped out, Dorothy ran to catch her pet, and the two couldn't get back into the basket before the balloon took off. She usedthe Golden Cap to the benefit of her, Toto, and their three friends. She got Glinda the Good Witch of the South to use the Cap on behalf of the Tin Woodman, the Scarecrow, and the Cowardly Lion. And then she contributed to the freeing of the Winged Monkeys, because Glinda gave them the Cap and their freedom. And she and Toto got back home.
