Jesus did not say, "you are the bread of life." Instead, He said He was the bread of life.
John 6:35
And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
John 6:48
I am that bread of life.
John 6:51
I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
In the Gospel of John, Jesus feeds 5000 people with bread & fish (a true miracle). Later many people are looking for Jesus hoping to be fed again. Jesus tells them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, Moses did not give you the bread from heaven, but my Father gives you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is He (Jesus) who comes down from heaven and gives life (Salvation) to the world". Jesus came to earth to give Salvation or eternal life. He is the bread of life.
He also said "Thou shalt not live by bread alone but by every word the proceedeth forth from the mouth of God". Christ is the bread of life in that His words will help save us in the kingdom of God. The bread that we eat as food is to help keep us alive while here on the earth
John 6:35 - And Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst." [NKJV]
Jesus said i am the bread of life.
Yes manna is definitely spiritual, i can confidently say yes because Jesus likened manna to he being the bread of life. "I am the bread of life," Jesus said to the Jews. "Your forefathers ate the manna in the wilderness and yet died. . . . I am the living bread that came down from heaven; if anyone eats of this bread he will live forever . . . The bread that I shall give is my flesh in behalf of the life of the world." (John 6:48-51) Literal bread or manna did not and cannot give everlasting life. But those who exercise faith in Jesus' ransom sacrifice will eventually enjoy the blessing of everlasting life.---Matthew 20:28.
Bread, wine, fish.

Jesus called himself the Bread of Life to illustrate his role as the source of spiritual nourishment for believers. Just as bread sustains physical life, Jesus provides sustenance for the soul through his teachings and his sacrificial death. By calling himself the Bread of Life, Jesus emphasized the need for people to partake of him in faith in order to experience true spiritual fulfillment and eternal life.
Bread was the staple food (that sustained life) in biblical times. Jesus said in John 6:35 "I am the bread of life, ..............those who come to me will never be hungry; those who believe in me will never be thirsty. "I am the bread of life..." Jesus called himself the bread of life because through Him people can have life. Those who come to Him find enough in Him to satisfy their spiritual hunger forever. Those who believe on Him find their thirst forever quenched.
When Jesus said this when he said "bread" he meant food. You CAN live on food through this mortal life but when you come face to face with your creator and father, what will you do? What will you say that will let you in? "Oh God I got strait A's in high school," "God I was great at football." Do you think he will say "oh your cool come on in"? You WILL die spiritually and eating bread will not help. Jesus is the bread of LIFE and is our bridge to heaven. I hope this answered your question and every word that was written here was TRUE and from the Bible. If anyone wants to pose an argument I GUARANTEE that I would win, for the scripture is God's breathed word.
Bread is said to be the staff of life, Christ words are also refered to as being the staff of life. He used bread as a symbolic term to mean that as bread sustains life so will His words.
John 6:35 I am the Bread of Life, he that cometh to me shall never hunger and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
In the christian faith it is the symbol of Jesus Christ. Jesus says "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty." He also uses it as a symbol of his body during the last supper.
The last meal Jesus spent with his Apostles is called the Last Supper, consisting of only bread and wine. Jesus said a blessing, saying that the bread was the bread of life, and the wine was Jesus' blood. If you go to a Catholic mass, there will be something called a communion, where you take the blessed bread and wine and drink it.
In the King James versionthe phrase - bread of life - appears twice.Joh 6:35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.Joh 6:48 I am that bread of life.
