At a time when the world teetered on the edge of nuclear self-annihilation, he walked the fine line between a determination for freedom and the perils of confrontation.
He is most known for the Cuban Missile Crisis. While he refused to invade communist Cuba, he also refused to allow the USSR to establish missile bases there.
He believed in improving the world by example, sending foreign aid and establishing the Peace Corps to help the Third World. He helped build NASA into a vast enterprise to explore the New Frontier of space. He brought new pressure to bear on the issue of Civil Rights, using the power of the federal government to end the second-class citizenship of African-Americans. He also represented the idealism of American youth.
Why is he so famous?
Because he was courageous enough to stand up for truth and justice. He was a great leader with a revolutionary agenda to change our world for the good of humanity. That makes him more than famous, it makes him one of the greatest leaders this world has ever had.

He took part in the Cold War, and he was the President who brought us through the Cuban Missile Crisis. His wife, Jaqueline Bovier Kennedy Onasis, redecorated the White House. She also was the mother of Jacks two children, and helped Jack on his campaigns.
