Napoleon Bonaparte (15 August 1769 -- 5 May 1821) later known as Emperor Napoleon I, was a military and political leader of France whose actions shaped European politics in the early 19th century. He stopped the French Revolution in 1799 and made France an Empire. He crowned himself emperor in 1804. In the first decade of the nineteenth century, he turned the armies of the French Empire against every major European power and dominated continental Europe through a series of military victories. He maintained France's sphere of influence by the formation of extensive alliances and the appointment of friends and family members to rule other European countries as French client states. He was a dictator and addicted to power. He was also absolutely brilliant and a fantastic strategic brain.
He was a soldier and then became Emperor of France.
He was a leader of France who conquered most of Europe until he was a great leader and the French loved him even till this day. He rarely lost battles, he was one of the greatest military leaders of all time and strongest. He was also a inspiration for Hitler and world domination.
He was not a big player in the French Revolution itself. The storming of the Bastille was on 14 July 1789 followed by the overthrow of Louis XVI on 21 September 1792. He spent much of that time on leave from the Army and involved with the cause of Corsican Independence. He came to Prominence as a result of the Siege of Toulon in July of 1793 which gained him the rank of Brigadier General at the age of 24. By crushing the Royalist Revolt against the Directory, he had become a made man and was only a step away from the number one job as first Consul on 10 November 1799.
He brought a revolution in the French Army. He was all over the world.
He made roads and hospitals. He helped France out of the ruckus. He Brought a revolution to the French army. Just look in the history books so many spectators of his around the world admired him. They dreamed of just brushing past him. Even if they were in battle with him. They admired him even more because he had BRAINS. Something, quite frankly not many people had back then. And I even admire him for that. Yes he wasn't some mad scientist that founded gravity or invented the light bulb. But he used a god given gift back then, and helped people. He was an old fashion super hero.
He moved the granting of government jobs away from patronage and toward Merit as a basis for.
He established city sanitation projects and beautification projects.
He insisted on Freedom off and Freedom from religion.
He commissioned many of the great French Memorials like the
He established the Napoleonic Code.
