Steve ran a Zoo called Australia Zoo. So after that he was called the Crocodile Hunter. In his childhood, Steve grew up watching his dad save animals and that's what Steve wanted to do. At the age of 7 he caught his first crocodile. Steve had his own show called The Crocodile Hunter. When he was making an episode about sea life a sting ray stung him in the heart and he pulled it out as soon as people pulled him out of the water, but it was too late. It's been said that if he hadn't pulled the stinger out of his heart he wouldn't have died. It was strange that he didn't die from a snake or crocodile but a sting ray. Steve Irwin had a amazing life and we should all cherish that. Steve Irwin was Australia's "Crocodile Hunter". His parents developed and ran the Queensland Reptile and Fauna Park, and Steve grew up learning how to catch and care for crocodiles. He used his skills to assist the Queensland Government's East Coast Crocodile Management program, which involved catching snd relocating North Queensland crocodiles. In 1991, Irwin took over the running of the reptile park, which was later renamed "Australia Zoo".
