At first, horses were viewed as prey. They were hunted for their meat. Then Native Americans discovered that horses could be used for transportation. They trained horses to ride for aid in hunting, raiding other tribes, and going to war. Using horses made it much easier for them to travel quickly.
Having horses also allowed tribes to be more mobile so that they could follow the herds of animals that they hunted (buffalo). The horses were able to carry most of their things so that they could travel faster.
Dream catchers are generally associated with Native Americans, and more specifically with the Plains Nations. Whether or not the popularized dream catchers accurately represent real native customs is debatable.
