He sent France into bankrupt to achieve his goal.He has series of wars such as french-dutch war,league of augsbutg,war of Spanish succession,war of devolution,war of reunions.Then when he wanted castles to live in he had to pay for that so he went bankrupt cause he didnt have enough money from the wars to build one.He didnt do all of the work and left most of it to his deputies like Marzarin and Richelieu who did the work and were cruel and incomplete about it with the work.His aristocracy he got left his future heirs difficulty ruling the lands and couldn't handle the land and throne.
