The word teenager wasn't invented until 1958, but it is my opinion that young people did start doing their own thing around 1952. For a date I'm pretty sure they did things like, roller skating, go for walks, large group dances, or watching live sports like Baseball or football. Around this time there were many soda shops that served things like soda, ice cream, Hamburgers, and salads. I think a lot of time was spent in places like this and at the movies. About once a year there would be fairs or carnivals, and many small communities would hold baseball games for all ages.
