If you are talking about boys during the times of the Romans (late bc years), they learned their "letters" The three subjects they learned were reading, writing, and arithmetic. If the parents could afford it, both the boy and the girl went to primary school. It was usually only boys however that went to secondary school. In secondary school they learned Latin and Greek literature, mathematics, science, astronomy, philosophy and music.
