You start with singing lessons to improve your technique and improve your voice then you can start looking for contests and if you really want to sing hire an agent. Then soon you will enter contests where there are talent scouts in the audience if they like you they will give you their card and ask if you are interested after performing at a few events for them they will help you make a demo then you will get invited to bigger events soon you will be famous and that's it keep making CDs that sell and your a singer!! :) ;)

First you take some help from a professional coach. Then you can start writing songs(optional). It is neccessary to know to play an instrument preferably guitar(or keyboard). Practice song you are good at. Practice till you think you're ready. If you are interested you can get a small crowd of fans by singing in parks. Since it is a small crowd, you can ask them their opinion and improve. Try again. Earn chances in local festivals and programmes. I'm sure you'll be noticed by someone who'll help you. If you don't then keep trying. Ask everyone their opinions to get better. If you think you're ready for professionalism(haha) then go to a recording studio. For example, in music institues, there are obviously recording rooms you can ask for. After you record(your own songs) try and distribute them to radio stations and don't forget to give some copies to family friends and close people. This will surely earn you fame! I can bet!
