What do you do as a catering manager?

I think it depends on the size of the catering company. In my position, I do it all, from answering the phone to working the event to the end. I am in charge of answering questions, developing the menu based on budget and items they want (very regional cooking here), arranging all rental items, securing bar service, staffing the event, set up, on-site coordination, break down, collecting payments, sending thank you notes... I am not required to work the smaller formal sit down or small passed cocktail parties.

At my company, I also pack out of all items for stations, kitchen, and staff needs... I make 35K + get paid an additional 100 per event I work.

I love my job, hate my boss, total ass, drug user (never grew up from restaurant days)... (yeah, I just signed out so it'd be anonymous!) But I love my brides and would do anything for :most: of them. Cheers, heycarolina at g...
