You NEED the basics. shorts, t-shirts, socks, make-up, under garments, shoes, pajamas and tooth brush and toothepaste.
my recommendation would be to check the weather for where you're going. If there is a chance of it being cool, then you might want to bring a light jacket and a couple of pairs of jeans.
If your hotel has a swimming pool then pack a bathing suit. If you dont know if you'll need something, chances are, you may end up needing it. But if your suitcase starts to get really filled up, then dont pack extras.
If you know that you will be shopping wherever you go, make sure to have extra space in your suitcase to store your stuff in when you go home.
I like to carry a carry-on even if you aren't going on the plane just because it keeps you busy no matter what you're doing.
