The similarities of a simile and a metaphor are that they both compare something to something else: Similes use the words like or as: Metaphors is still a comparison but without using the word like or as!

Ex. Simile: Her eyes were as green as emeralds.

Ex. Metaphor: Her heart is colder than Winter!
