Actually, contrary to the previous poster. It does not mean no.
Just the opposite, 'hao' means good/fine. "Ni hao" (Chinese greeting) means "You good/fine."
"Ni hao, ma?" literally means "You good?"
A possibly response would be hen hao, or "very good." Hen (very) Hao (good/fine).
