The Windows PC is cheaper to buy at the start. But can cost almost as much as a Mac PC after you update everything for some people.

Macs are more expensive but usually has more devices installed stock and has a longer life span, people tend to keep them longer on average.

Mac's rarely crash from using their own applications.

Window "issues" can be excessive although Windows 7 has made significant improvements.

There are more games and software for the Windows PC then for the Mac PC, but, that DOESN'T mean there are more QUALITY programs.

The replacement Video Cards for Windows are usually way cheaper then the Mac.

You can make your own Windows machine.

Windows game & software company's don't always port their products to the Mac side.

Macs have "significantly" less problems with Virus, Worms, AdBots, etc.

Apple makes their own computer AND operating system so they have more control over the quality, and unfortunately the pricing.

Any computer manufacturer can make a Windows compatible computer as long as they pay Microsoft the License fee. Quality can be less then optimal.

To make it a moot issue you can run Windows on a Mac. Either through a "virtual" partition or boot-up through Apples BootCamp.

If your thinking on a Mac and don't want to give up the Windows side then try a Mac. If your not interested don't.

Does the term PC refer to all computers that that are not made by Macintosh?

The Macintosh is manufactured by Apple Inc. Personal Computers, other than the Macintosh are not produced by a single manufacturer, they are assembled by combining different parts altogether increasing wired connection. While Macintosh can be precisely described as a PC, but the general impression is that Macintosh and PC are competitors. Because all of the PCs run on the Windows operating system while Mac doesn't. The rivalry of Microsoft and Apple, among fans more than the companies have certainly raised such discussions over the time.
