Google Earth View is pretty amazing. It allows the user to zoom in basically to street level views of just about anything via satellites. It's great to see the topography of the land.
Google Earth can be found by typing in the google earth in the search and earth feature is the first link. When the link is opened, select the link to download the program. There are links available for PCs/MAC/Ubuntu.
In the redesign of Street View in Google Earth 6.0 the zoom capability found in the previous version was removed. A number of users have asked for this feature back so stay tuned to see if it appears in the next version. Google Earth 6.2 has brought back a zoom feature in Street View using the mouse scrool-wheel to zoom in/out. Google Maps has a zoom feature in Street View as well as other features (e.g. 3D mode) not found in Google Earth.
Earth view is a feature in Google Maps (available since 2010) that allows you to see the same high-resolution imagery, terrain, and 3D buildings that are available in the desktop version of Google Earth.Earth view mode in Google Maps is only available to those that have installed Google Earth. It uses the Google Earth plugin in your web browser.

From Street View in Google Maps while viewing a panorama pressing the letter "t" or the number "3" enables 3D mode.This feature, however, is not yet implemented in Google Earth simply because Google decided to first implement the stereoscopic 3D feature in Google Maps presumably because there is a lot more users of Google Maps than Google Earth. With enough demand the Google Earth developers may add this to a future version of Google Earth.
Google has documented how to share data from Google Maps to Google Earth - see related link below.Until recently Google Maps had an undocumented feature that by adding "&output=kml" to the Link as seen in Google Maps would generate KML to launch that view in Google Earth. However, that feature has been removed and you can't do that any more.It's easy to switch from Google Earth to Google Maps - just check the "View in Google Maps" option found in the File menu of Google Earth.
Google Maps from the web browser and Google Earth from the desktop can view Street View. you can also view traffic.
Google Street View is a technology featured in Google Maps and Google Earth launched in 2007.
