The oil pan is at the bottom of the engine. Look under the car, there it is. It holds the oil pump and the oil.

sounds like a head gasket. pull the oil dipstick and look for bubbles or a milky discoloration in the oil
get a chilton or haynes repair manual from a parts store it will walk you thru the process
for the oil pan it looks like the head of a bolt on the back of the oil pan, for a diff it is a headless bolt that a 3/8 ratchet fits in w/o socket on front of the diff
Raise the vehicle and look at the oil pan. You will see a bolt in the oil pan. That is the drain plug.
