The Last Supper refers to the gathering of Jesus and his disciples just before he was arrested and taken to Pontius Pilot for sentencing. There are many paintings of the event with Jesus seated at a long table with the disciples seated on either side. This was the dinner where he told them to drink the wine that it was his blood; and to eat the bread that it was his flesh. This is the basis for communion in many Christian ceremonies.

The Last Supper (otherwise known as The Passover), Jesus changed the way the Passover is to be observed, the most obvious is in what is called The Communion - the ceremony of eating the portion of unleavened bread and drinking the wine that remembers Jesus' sacrifice. He is the Lamb to which a million lambs slain in the past points.

"...This is My body which is given for you: THIS DO IN REMEMBRANCE OF ME... this cup is the New Testament in My blood, which is shed for you." (Luke 22:19-20)

This is the NEW way the Passover is to be observed. It's a solemn MEMORIAL to be kept from year to year, until Jesus returns.

Another little known ceremony He began that night that people tend to willingly forget is the "foot-washing" ceremony when the King of kings and Lord of lords stooped on the floor and washed His disciples' feet.

"If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet. For I HAVE GIVEN YOU AN EXAMPLE, THAT YE SHOULD DO AS I HAVE DONE TO YOU." (John 13:14-15)

The Lord met with his apostles for the last time before He returned to His father. At this "Last Supper" he told them what they had to do at their gatherings so that they would remember Him. They were to bless bread and water (Wine) and eat and drink in rememberance of His body and His blood which he gave as a sansom for all mankind. This Sacrament is performed at every Sabbath Day meeting held by faithful members of His church.

Or Jesus and his disciples sat down and Jesus gave them white bread and red wine theses are sacraments theses represent Jesus' blood and flesh.

Then Jesus Talked about Jesus' death and etc..

Then Jesus was taken away to be put on the cross which was on Good Friday.

The Last Supper was the last Passover meal that Jesus shared with His disciples before He was betrayed and crucified. Some have dated this event to Tuesday evening (days in Israel begin and end at sunset), 25 April 31 AD. He was crucified around 6 AM and died at 3 PM. He was buried shortly before sunset to begin Wednesday, the first and High Sabbath day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread. He remained in the tomb for 3 full nights (W-Th-F)and days (Th-F-Sa) as was His only sign of His messiahship - like Jonah in the belly of the Great Fish.

For Christians then, Christ culminated His ministry on this 4th and Last Passover meal. He humbled Himself and washed the feet of the disciples showing them how they too must humble themselves to all. He gave the command to remember this great sacrifice He was going to make for the sins of all mankind by instituting new annual signs of bread and wine to commerate this event on the anniversary of the Passover until His 2nd Coming.

A:In the synoptic gospels (Matthew, Mark and Luke), the Last Supper was the Jewish Passover feast. It was Jesus' last chance to be with his disciples before his arrest and crucifixion.

In Mark, the first of the New Testament gospels, the Last Supper had literary significance as the start of a short chiastic structure, in which the author divided the last twenty four hours into eight segments of just three hours each.

John's Gospel, for theological reasons, has Jesus crucified on the day before the Passover feast (John 19:14: "And it was the preparation of the Passover ..."), so there is no mention of the Last Supper. It is replaced by Jesus washing the feet of the disciples after they had finished their normal evening meal.

Another Answer:

All Gospels speak of Jesus eating the Passover, called the Lord's Supper, at the start of the evening (days begin at sunset and end at sunset). But Jesus was not having just a seder meal with His closest friends. It was something new Jesus was giving His new Church to do in rememberance of Him and He truly and fervently looked forward to sharing this time and giving the new instructions to all His followers through His Apostles.

Understanding what Christ did that evening, it soon becomes clear that this event was not some Jewish Passover that was His ultimate intent. Ultimately, His intent was to show the significance of His sacrifice. It all begins with the sacrifice of Christ. Therefore, at the New Testament Passover, it's the time that we proclaim and we herald the death of Christ because with that sacrifice it gives us the opportunity to begin the journey to salvation. And so we accept that and we understand that and we recommit ourselves to Him.

This new annual day of rememberance is no longer death passing over the enslaved Israelites but forever more, the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for the passing over of our sins when we accept Christ as our Savior and repent before God. It is for all members of His New Testament Church and eventually all humankind. The Apostle Paul made this very clear to the Church of God at Corinth:

1 Corinthians 11:23-26 New King James Version (NKJV)

Institution of the Lord's Supper

23 For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread; 24 and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, "Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me." 25 In the same manner Healso took the cup after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me."

26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death till He comes.

Who painted the 'last supper' and where is it found?

Many painters have painted the last supper. But you are probably referring to Leonardo da Vinci's "The Last Supper". It is not actually a painting, it is a mural (wall painting). It was painted on the wall of the refectory of the Convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie, in Milan.

Is supper bad?

This was categorized under 'The Last Supper', so I'm going to conclude that you were referring to that. The Last Supper was not bad, however what proceeded the day after and what the Last Supper stood for is rather grotesque. The Last Supper was, in the New Testament, the Last Supper that Jesus ate with his disciples, and the one in which he gave his last words of wisdom. The proceeding day, Jesus was set to be crucified, and hence the celebration of Easter.

Why is the Last Supper called the Last Supper and not the last dinner?

For purely cultural reasons. Some call it the last meal, for instance. To some, "dinner" and "supper" mean the same meal, for others they have both a dinner and a supper everyday, for instance on a farm: breakfast in the morning, then lunch, then dinner, then after the last work of the day, supper.
