Pasted from flyleafonline:
"One of the ones I think is important to play is Sorrow. That's because in our day and age, there is such a huge number of people who deal with depression, or know someone who deals with depression. In The Bible, it says, "Jesus was a man of sorrow." On the secular side, there are people who deal with depression because they feel empty. On the Christian side, there are people who deal with depression because they feel alone with their Christianity or because they mess up. That's the spirit we're combating when we play it. The promise in the end is, "Joy will come."" - Lacey
Broken Wings by Flyleaf can be looked at in two different ways. One, it's about Lacey's relationship with God, and thanking him for being there and being a friend to her. Another way most fans look at it is telling your best friend just how much you care about them.
Sorrow By Flyleaf:
Sometimes life seems to quiet into paralyzing silence, like the moonless dark, meant to make me strong
Familiar breath of my old lies, changed the color in my eyes
Soon he will perforate the fabric of the peaceful by and by
Sorrow lasts through this night
I'll take this piece of you
And hope for all eternity
For just one second I felt whole
As you flew right through me
Left alone with only reflections of my memory
To face the ugly girl that's smothering me
Sitting closer than my pain
He knew each tear before it came
Soon he will perforate the fabric of the peaceful by and by
Sorrow lasts through this night
I'll take this piece of you
And hope for all eternity
For just one second I felt whole
As you flew right through me
And we kiss each other one more time
And sing this lie that's halfway mine
The sword is slicing through the question
So I won't be fooled by his angel light
Sorrow lasts through this night
I'll take this piece of you
And hope for all eternity
For just one second I felt whole
As you flew right through me
Up into the stars
Joy will come
It's like if you have a problem and you've looked for a way to get out of it but couldn't find one you turn to Jesus and ask Him for help I think that's what she means by the lyrics (here you are down on you're knees again trying to find Air to breath again and only surrender Will help you now I love you please see and believe again) pretty much it means Jesus loves you and if you turn to Him He will help you with you're problems
"I'm Sorry" is about some form of abuse, and apparently Lacey is singing from personal experience. She won't, however, go into detail.
I personally get the impression that the girl (Lacey) is a forced circus act.
