Best Answer

A word to describe a valedictorian. Merriam Webster does not recognize it as a word, which is a crying shame because it is a damned handy word.

"How did your kid do with the final exams?"

"Valedictoriously!"

"Oh! That's superbious!"

"Thanks!"

The word valedictory comes from the Latin words for goodbye (vale) and to say (dict-), and is an adjective which thus means pertaining to a speech of farewell. It has acquired the special meaning of pertaining to a speech given at a graduation by one of the graduates to say farewell to the graduating class as a whole.
